What is Simply Discover?
Simply Discover is customer-hosted software for email archive migration, data subject access requests and secure file sharing through LFX. Its wider capabilities include eDiscovery, communications supervision, secure collaboration, electronic signing and Alveary for AI agent memory and coordination. It supports IT, privacy, legal, compliance and operational teams working with sensitive information.
Do we need to adopt the whole platform?
No. You can start with a single module, such as Migration, DSAR or LFX, and add capabilities when needed. Modules are separately licensed and configured. An archive migration does not automatically perform a DSAR response or an eDiscovery investigation.
Where can we migrate our email archive?
Supported destinations include Microsoft 365 mailboxes and archives, PST files, Proofpoint and message-file exports. There is also a specialist Mimecast-to-Mimecast route. Source and destination support must be checked together; not every combination is supported. The migration destination overview explains the routes and their requirements.
How does LFX protect messages and large files?
LFX sends protected content from Outlook or the web. Recipients verify their identity before access, with expiry and use limits set by policy. Authorised reviewers can see recorded views, previews and downloads. External recipients normally use a browser without a full platform account. Access controls do not recall a copy that has already been downloaded.
Can Simply Discover run in Azure, AWS or on premises?
Yes. Simply Discover supports customer-hosted deployment in Microsoft Azure, AWS or an on-premises environment. Infrastructure, permissions, integrations and operational responsibilities should be agreed for your deployment.
What is the difference between eDiscovery and DSAR software?
eDiscovery centres on a legal matter or investigation: collecting evidence, exploring relationships, reviewing material and preparing the required production. DSAR centres on a person's access request: establishing scope, finding their information, reviewing third-party data and preparing disclosure. The workflows serve different purposes, even when some evidence overlaps.
Does AI make the final review decisions?
No. In eDiscovery and DSAR, AI assistance helps classify and examine material with context, rationale and supporting evidence. Reviewers assess the suggestions, make decisions and record the outcome. Professional judgement and responsibility remain with your team.
Does customer-hosted mean no external services are used?
Not by itself. Customer-hosted describes where the platform is deployed. Data flows also depend on the source connections, AI providers, delivery services and other integrations you configure. Review those choices with your security team as part of deployment.
